We got this rug for our lanai. The lanai area is covered with a roof, but is in the open air in a pool enclosure. The rug gets the morning sun but not direct sunlight nor rain. Pool water does not affect its appearance. After living with this rug for a few weeks, we like this rug very much. The leaves and vines are soft pile, and the lower background is a weave that looks much like sisal though it is all polyethylene. After our cat coughed up a hairball the rug cleaned up perfectly with Resolve carpet spray and a rag. I recommend it to you if you are looking for a weather resistant, pet-friendly carpet that is also gracefully beautiful. The cats enjoy lying on it, and it vacuums up easily too. So much nicer than a bare cement lanai and pool deck.
